WESTCHESTER VILLAGE HALL
The Village Hall is located at 10300 W.
Roosevelt Road, Westchester, IL 60154. Phone:
(708) 345-0020. The Village Hall is open for
business Monday through Friday, 8:30 am until
5 pm. For After-Hours Payments: Use the drop
box in the lobby of the Village Hall, located in the
main lobby just to the left of the doorway into the
Village offices.

GARBAGE COLLECTION
Garbage collection and rubbish are picked
up by Waste Management once a week. For
information, contact Waste Management at
708-656-5350. When a scheduled pick up falls
on a holiday, collections will be made on the
following day. Residents are billed for the service
on their quarterly water bills. Village ordinance
requires all garbage to be covered and not
placed in paper bags or boxes for collection.
Village crews remove tree branches from the
parkway on a weekly basis. For more details,
contact Public Works at 345-0041.
RECYCLING
Recyclables are picked up once each week
on a day assigned by the Village contractor.
Westchester’s program includes newspapers,
colored glass, aluminum and tin cans and Type
1 and 2 plastics as well as cardboard. Recycling
bins should be placed at the curb on the appointed
day. Recyclables are picked up at the curb only, even if normal garbage pick up is in the alley. Imprint your address
on your recycling bins to help prevent their “mysterious” disappearance!
BUSINESS LICENSES
All businesses must obtain a license from the Village Hall. Licenses
must be renewed each January.
VEHICLE STICKERS AND PET TAGS
Vehicle stickers are available from January 1 through December 31.
Motorists may purchase stickers between December 1 and February 15
for $25. Senior citizen rate is $10 for anyone who will be 65 by the
February deadline. One senior rate sticker per family. Vehicle sticker fees
double after February 15. Dog and cat owners must also purchase
licenses yearly. The license fee is $3 for dogs and $4 for cats. Licenses
are valid from January 1 through December 31 and may be obtained
between December 1 and February 15. Call the Village Hall for more
details on rabies certification.
BUILDING DEPARTMENT
The Building Department, under the direction of Dennis DiPasquale,
handles new construction and remodeling along with a variety of other
services including: Home Compliance Checks, Building Permits,
Contractor’s License and Registration, Zoning Questions, Flood Plain
Questions and Code Enforcement. Projects more involved than simple
repairs will require building permits. Residents are encouraged to call the
Building Department regarding any permit needs. The sale of any
Westchester building requires a Code Compliance inspection, which
should be performed well in advanced of the closing so any required
repairs may be completed prior to the scheduled closing.
