Westchester Public Schools, District 92-1/2, consists of three modern schools that serve students of the community from kindergarten through eighth grade.

The Westchester Primary School serves kindergarten through 2nd grade and houses the District’s Early Childhood Program.

Students in grades 3 through 5 attend the Westchester Intermediate School.

The Westchester Middle School serves students in grades 6 through 8. All schools have modern and fully-equipped library/media centers and gymnasiums. All schools offer hot lunch programs. The District provides transportation for students who must cross main arterial streets.

District 92-1/2 has a reputation for academic excellence. The certified staff includes classroom teachers and subject area specialists who are dedicated to providing a challenging and diversified curriculum for students.

A full array of educational services is provided including bilingual, gifted and assistance programs to meet varied student needs. Art and music are taught at all grade levels. Instrumental music is offered in grades 4 through 8. Students in grades 6 through 8 have the opportunity to learn Spanish as a foreign (second) language and to explore areas of media, computer science, engaged technology and home economics.

Technology is an instructional tool in all schools. Students consistently achieve at or above state and national averages on achievement and standards tests as well as in local, regional, and state competitions in academics, athletics and fine arts.
